L3 Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (L3 FOS) is the largest fuze manufacturer in the United States and is one of the most advanced manufacturers of Fuzing and Ordnance products in the world.
As a Supplier Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing supply chain guidance and support to Engineering and Operations through hands on involvement in production development, production launch, and serial production. You will identify key suppliers for inter-divisional evaluation, participate in all design reviews where purchased parts, equipment and services are involved, identify opportunity and drive supplier technology road map reviews and supplier design standards/ capability reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research vendor's products, capabilities and capacity.
Track actions and deliverables for purchased parts, equipment and services for product development.
Interface with purchasing and supplier quality groups on issues and actions of purchased parts, equipment, supplier selection, execution, follow up and supply chain transition.
Solicit quotations from potential sources and in support of buyers.
Review quotes for compliance to requests and identify any exceptions.
Upon business award, identify and track qualification requirements and drive on time execution.
Visit Key or problem suppliers and drive improvement with formal or informal process audits incorporating Lean events where appropriate.
Evaluate and select supply sources. Verify that selected source is acceptable to requisitioner if required.
Accumulate information and become knowledgeable of vendor products and capabilities via catalogs, correspondence, telephone or person contact.
Establish and maintain adequate liaison with requisitioning department / individual (Operations, Development Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) as well as operating departments as required.
Develop technical road map for critical technology.
External contact: sponsor, contractor/ subcontractors and vendors. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price and determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Prepares bid specifications, solicits and receives proposals from suppliers.
Resolves defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others.
Attends engineering DFM meetings to provide supply chain input.

Aptitude in real-time MRP environment.
Skilled in PC-based business software programs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
